[ Squall appears on the camera, his face tilted toward the sky. It's not easy to make out his expression, especially when the his pokegear is positioned low and near the ground. The angle is sharp but there's still a clear view of Squall's left hand tightening into a fist at his side. And to someone being extremely observant, they might spy a glint of silver metal on his middle finger (a ring maybe?) ]

[ His spine is taut and rigid. In the background, out of sight a murmur of "Kad... Kadabra..." can be heard. ]

...Never thought... Never even crossed my mind...

[ The SeeD scoffs sharply, shaking his head before looking down at whoever is holding his gear. Squall glares, his eyes somewhat brighter than usual but it could be a trick of the light... ]

Turn that thing off. Now.

A girl named Rinoa was looking for you. [A beat.] I'm taking care of Leila and the baby Riolu. Is that Kadabra...?

[ On cue, the camera pans toward the Kadabra with a rather sulking impression on its face ]

Cosmos. Yeah, it is.

[ Squall's fist tightens again, his knuckles turning white beneath the fabric of his glove before he takes a deep breath, attempting to calm himself. Suddenly he blinks. Did he hear the paladin right?]

...Rin. Rinoa. She's... She's here?

That's one less of his Pokémon that is missing, at least.

She is. Long brown hair, rather friendly, smiles a lot, right? From the same world as Miss Quistis, too, so you were certainly the one she was looking for.

[ Another pause and deep breath. If Cecil was a mind reader, he might hear the extreme amount of cursing Squall's doing in his head ]

How long... has she been here? Rinoa, I mean.

Hyne, what day is it? Night, whatever. Last I checked... it was the 1st.

Light has Rosebud, Bartz has the Chikorita, and someone has Wild Rose. That's all I know.

[He's no mind reader, but he can guess Squall's general reaction.]

I spoke to her on the 9th. She was already in Cherrygrove, by then. ...We're the 14th. Friday the 14th.

At least she did not travel to Cherrygrove alone. She mentioned arriving in town with another girl.

[ Honestly, he hadn’t even thought about his new addition to his team (well second newest, now that he had Cosmos with him) since he first realized where he was only an hour before ]

That's good. The poor thing looked rather hungry, and Avenger started telling it to eat your shoelaces, and I was worried it would truly do so and feel ill...

...You know, Ecruteak is not that far from Violet.

[ Squall stiffens at the mention of Violet ]

...I actually should have... been in Violet by now, Cecil. Not here. Not in Ecruteak.

[ Squall's expression darkens just slightly before he starts to speak ]

I remember walking toward the Sudowoodo Crossing. I was... planning on visiting Quistis.

After that... I was here.

[ And with that said, he lets out all his pokemon and each and every single one of the look at the new addition curiously. At least until Diablos stalks over to the Kadabra and promptly attempts to glomp. ]

Well, they seem to gat along, at least. [Cecil's definition of getting along does not match the rest of the world, surprisingly.]

[ Diablos ends up flying through the air and not even that entices a reaction out of Squall. Instead, he stares at each of his pokemon evenly before addressing his 'gear ]

...They're all at the levels the last time I checked which was. New Years.

[ Squall's newborn sneaks up and scratches at the SeeD's pants with a small paw. Promptly, Squall bends over and picks it up. ]

Which means they were also affected. Could you have been teleported into the future, somehow? If you'd been frozen someone would have seen you standing there, unmoving.
