You are a hard man to find.

[ The camera is currently being gripped by Squall's Drifblim's arms as it floats around. Suzuki appears onscreen, arms crossed under her bust as she walks closer to Squall. The SeeD shrugs, more intent on the egg in his arms that appears to be moving more than usual. After floundering around for days, not knowing what to do, Squall looks a bit more relaxed about holding an egg. ]

You say that like I do it intentionally.

[ He scoffs, shaking his head. ]

I don't.

I still have to give you your gift.

[ Another shrug from Squall when something catches his attention. The camera turns and there's Cyndaquil playing on precariously on a branch of tree with a sprig of Mistletoe from who knows where. Squall's eyes narrow as he glares at it. Suzuki pauses to a stop next to him before looking up. ]

Oh.

[ Squall scoffs, shaking his head. Where the hell his Cyndaquil got that, he didn't know. Especially since most of the mistletoe were already being put away and not decorating the interior of every building. Hyne, he didn't have time with this. ]

Yeah. Don't know where it got it.

Tch. It's already after Christmas. Ignore it.

I plan to. (Kissing someone... Yeah, no.)

[ Suddenly, the egg in Squall's arms shake harder before being enveloped by a bright light just as the bells start to toll for the midnight hour. Squall stares blankly at his egg before a small blue pokemon appears in his arms ]

Shinx!

[ He blinks at it, holding it up in front of his face, completely forgetting that there's mistletoe above him and Suzuki beside him. All his focus is on the blue... lion cub. That's the only way to say it. Describe it. It's... unbelievable. The cub looks like a smaller, younger version of... ]

...Griever?

[[ooc: so Squall's shinx hatched just as the eighth bell tolls. /snerk

[ Yeah, he might need to get back to you on that, WoL. This egg hatching business might have just... broke his mind a bit. ]

[ Squall blinks again at the lion cub he's holding. Tilting his head to the side, he stares at it,completely oblivious that WoL is talking to him and he's being recorded. ]

[Really, Squall's lucky that Bartz and Zidane aren't filming this for blackmail.]

Squall.

[ If Squall was paying attention to anything but his pokemon, Squall might actually disagree about that... ]

[And the fact that he isn't paying attention is enough. It's not every day that you can shock Squall that much, after all.]

Shinx, is it? Could you attempt to get your trainer's attention?

[She blinks at the small cat-like Pokemon, tilting her head a bit.]

This one is new... [Completely cool with a distraction, Suzuki pulls out her Pokedex.]

It's awfully... Cute for a Pokemon with that kind of description. [Maybe "cute" wasn't the right word, she thinks, wrinkling her nose.]

Shinx.

[ Squall stares at his new pokemon addition as the cub tilts its head back to yawn, exposing a jaw of rather impressive teeth ]

That is what the computer says... [An eyebrow and she notices that the location isn't listened.] Another Pokemon that isn't from Johto.

Is something wrong, Squall?

I...

[ Yeah, he's speechless. Give him a minute Suzuki while he reboots his brain. He just finally accepted that the pokemon he was searching is really a figment of his imagination and now... another pokemon from that dream is seemingly in his arms now.

[ Yeah. Speechless. ]

You...? [Don't mind her Umbreon nipping at your heel, Squall. He doesn't like it when people brainbreak.]

Katrine. [Annnnd he backs off.]

[ Squall's more concerned with his new blue pokemon than the nipping. If anything, Cyndaquil's watching carefully while bouncing the mistletoe up and down above Squall and Suzuki. ]

Squall. [Her voice is a bit more stern this time, thinking that the stupid cat shorted him into a stroke or something.]

Breon... [Katrine looks up to Cyndaquil, ears out to the side and sounding a bit frustrated.] Umbreon!

...An electric lion, of all things. It suits you quite well.

[ Squall would answer but... he's still blinking bemusedly at the lion cub. Of all the possibilities his egg might hatch into... this pokemon wasn't one of them. ]

...Squall? Is something wrong? [Even Leviathan the Feebas and Lydia the Chikorita are now peeking at the screen worriedly.]

[ Vaguely, Squall realizes he's being talked to but right now the cub has all of his attention. Especially when it starts to squirm in his grip ]

...I think it wants to walk around. Perhaps you should put it on the ground? [Now his whole team is around him and starting to wonder how to snap Squall out of it.]

[ It's wrapping its... tail around Squall's arm now and Squall's just frozen stiff while he just continues to try and wrap his mind around the possibility that... all his 'dream' pokemon might exist. ]

Well, little one, is there any food you can eat while your trainer is busy staring at nothing? You must be hungry. [His team offers suggestions, going from 'meat' to 'candy' to 'your trainer's shoes'.]

[ The lion tilts its head at the screen before chirping its name again. Pretty man had pretty hair. Pretty good to nibble on ]

At least you seem healthy enough.

[Don't do that, hair is too stringy! No, it's tasty, but only with the right shampoo! Our trainer has too much of it anyway, he won't miss a few inches!]

Hey, Squall! How are you going to name it?

[ Squall just stares more at his new pokemon, watching it yawn again. Vaguely, he knows he's being talked to but... Dammit, he needs a moment to take everything in. ]

Oh, no. Not with that silent treatment again! I thought we were over that moment in your life, Squall! Squall, come here!

[OH LOOK IT'S YOUR FAVORITE BFF!]

[OH I MISSED YOU BFF.]

What? But...

[I MISSED YOU, TOO. WE SHOULD TOTALLY HANG OUT AND I CAN HIT YOU FOR NO REASON OR SOMETHING.]

Or you can wait for him to start speaking again... But I cannot tell you when that will be.

[OH, I LIKE WHEN YOU HIT ME, BABY. WHEN DO YOU WANT TO DO IT?]

That's the face he puts when he's thinking in something really hard or in something not happy. Man, even that frown is really different from the others. I wonder what's he thinking about...

[Aerith is only going to stare at Squall with keen interest especially when she saw Cyndaquil with the mistletoe between them.]

Hmph!

[Look who is pouting a bit at the screen. She believes they wasted a perfect opportunity to kiss, but something catches her attention.]

Griever? Isn't that... [She thinks for a moment.] Oh right! Leon's gunblade has the same name. [Blinking a bit.] Hey, Squall. Are you going to name that blue cat after your gunblade?

I do not think he is in the condition to speak... For whatever reason.

Oh? What's exactly wrong with him, Suzuki?

Some sort of brain damage brought on by his new Pokemon. [She shakes her head.]

[Give her a moment to process the information, Suzuki. Please give her that moment. She will put the gear down and check on Leon for a second. Yes, she is going to check if Leon isn't suffering any brain damage. You might notice it takes a while for her to return with a confused and worried look. Does she need to run to Ecruteak Town?]

Uh...have you tried to...take the pokemon away from him? [More like: Take that pokemon away from him and keep it far, far, far away from him.]

I might lose a hand...

What about shaking him a bit?

I think it will pass on its own.

How long do you think it might take? What if he stays like that for a few days, snaps out of it, then decides to run to a cave again?

[Why is the idea almost getting an amused smile out of her? She will be covering her lips now.]

Then... [Welp, you've stumped her.]
